Our Unwritten Seoul Begins Here: Banpo Rainbow Fountain Night Guide

Our Unwritten Seoul Begins Here — Banpo Moonlight Rainbow Fountain 🌈

μ•ˆλ…•ν•˜μ„Έμš”. I'm Hangeulia.^-^

You know that dreamy moment when Our Unwritten Seoul starts — music playing, soft lights glowing, and the title floating across the night sky with a shimmering bridge?

That magical opening happens right here — under a rainbow made of water, light, and Seoul’s night breeze…
Yep, it’s none other than Banpo Moonlight Rainbow Fountain (반포 λ‹¬λΉ›λ¬΄μ§€κ°œλΆ„μˆ˜) ^^

And remember in Episode 2, when Mi-ji and Ho-su are finishing their Hangang ramyeon by the river?
Just as she’s ready to leave, Ho-su glances up and says:

“The fountain’s just about to go off.”

γ…Žγ…Ž That’s your sign. Never leave before the rainbow. πŸ˜„

πŸ’œ So, what’s so special about this fountain?

Okay — imagine this.

You’re standing on a peaceful riverside path.
The bridge above you starts to glow.
Then suddenly — water bursts out from the bridge, moving to the rhythm of music.
Soft pinks, bold blues, a wave of greens and golds shimmer in the air.
The fountain arcs like it’s dancing… and for 20 whole minutes, you forget you’re in a busy city… just peaceful and romantic.πŸ’•

380 nozzles, 1,140 meters,
and a symphony of light
— Seoul’s most iconic night show🌈

This isn’t just a fountain.
It’s a performance in the sky — with 380 nozzles shooting water 20 meters out from the bridge,
guided by 200 LED lights and synced to music that changes with each show.
And guess what? It’s the world’s longest bridge fountain — 1,140 meters in total!😲

Wonderful for a free night out, right? 😍

πŸ’œ 2025 Showtimes (April–October) πŸ•’

  • April–June / September–October
    12:00 / 19:30 / 20:00 / 20:30 / 21:00
  • July–August (Peak Season)
    + one more at 21:30

Each show lasts around 20 minutes.
But be aware: If it’s super windy 🌬, rainy ☔, or the water’s murky after rain, the show might be paused for safety reasons.

πŸ’œ How to Get There (Two Easy Options)

Let's start  from Express Bus Terminal Station (고속터미널역) which connects Lines 3, 7, and 9. Whether you’re coming out of the subway or shopping underground, both routes are simple!

❤ From Goto Mall (Underground Shopping Mall)

  1. Inside Goto Mall, look for Exit G4 — this leads toward Banpo Hangang Park.
  2. Once outside, walk straight until you see a crosswalk.
  3. Cross the road and head toward the center walkway
  4. That path leads you under the bridge (Jamsugyo), right to the fountain area!

❤ From Exit 8-1 of Express Bus Terminal Station

  1. Come out and walk just a bit — you’ll see KB Kookmin Bank (KBꡭ민은행) in front of you.
  2. Turn right at the bank, and keep walking straight along the main road.
  3. Soon, you’ll see the same crosswalk.
  4. Cross the road, go to the center walkway, and walk under the bridge — this is Jamsugyo, the stage for the show!
It takes about 15–20 minutes on foot, flat and easy the whole way ^^

πŸ’› How to Enjoy It Like a Local

Sure, you can just show up, watch the fountain, and go.
But if you really want to soak in the Seoul vibe, here’s how locals do it ^^

 1. Grab Hangang Ramyeon from the convenience store

Right inside the park, you’ll find a 편의점 (convenience store) with everything you need — ramyeon, drinks, and instant happiness.

Choose your favorite (Shin Ramyeon? 였짬? Up to you! γ…Žγ…Ž),
use the electronic ramyeon cooker to make it hot and fresh~
Then just bring it outside, find a cozy spot… and let the fountain show be your dinner view ^^

2. Sit under the bridge or by the water

Visitors gather along the riverside to feel the mist
and magic of the Banpo Rainbow Fountain show ^^

Locals know the best spots are under the bridge or by the water's edge.
You’ll be close enough to see the colors shimmer and hear the music echo across the water.
Just you, the breeze, and Seoul lighting up in front of you 🌟

3. Or bring your own picnic!

Locals and travelers enjoy snacks and stories
as the rainbow fountain lights up the Hangang night ^-^

Pack some snacks, drinks, or even order delivery (yes, you can get food delivered to the park!).
Spread out a mat on the grass, and get comfy~

As the music starts and the fountain dances,
just sit back, chat with your friends or your date,
and let Seoul’s night rhythm carry you through the show.

It’s not just watching a fountain —
It’s making memories under the stars, K-drama style ^^

Looking for a night scene that feels straight out of a K-drama?
Banpo Moonlight Rainbow Fountain is a μ™„μ „κ°•μΆ” (highly recommended).
It’s where stories begin, feelings unfold,
and the city pauses — just for a moment — to glow a little brighter.

See you under the rainbow~ 😊
With love,
Hangeulia
